About the Role

Job Duties and Responsibilities (included but not limited to):
• Ability to perform electrical tests, read results, diagnose and repair electrical problems
• Ability to work on single-phase electrical systems
• Ability to work on low voltage systems, alarms, and communication systems
• Ability to diagnose stray voltage in agricultural buildings for animal health
• Maintain inventory of electrical parts used on farms
• Install electrical warning systems
• Use computer and other test equipment for diagnosis
• Perform preventative maintenance to avoid operational failures of electrical systems
• Clear understanding of ground fault systems
• Ability to identify wires accurately
• Ability to resolve potential safety hazards

Requirements

• Knowledge of electrical wire size and circuit loads

• Adaptable to changes in schedule as directed

• Flexibility to work late hours when necessary to complete a job

• On-call rotational weekends


Physical Demands:

• Regularly lift 50-pounds and at times 100-pounds

• Climb ladders and stairs and work at heights with good body balance

• Ability to regularly walk, bend, stoop, climb, kneel, crawl, crouch, etc.

• Occasional work near moving mechanical parts

• Exposure to swine environment

• Withstand exposure to seasonal weather conditions

• Work from ladders or at high areas of approximately 20-30 feet


Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or G.E.D

• Previous pig production experience is plus, but not required

About the Company

Belstra Group Farms is a pig production organization with over 20 swine farm facilities located in
Northwest Indiana. Belstra is in search of individuals to fill Full-time Farm Maintenance/Electrician
positions. The maintenance team is responsible for maintaining and repairing physical structures,
buildings, and swine equipment such as automated feed systems, penning for animals, freshwater
systems, etc. In addition, this team is responsible for moving building materials to designated areas. The
maintenance member must work in compliance with all the company policies, local, state, federal
policies, laws, and regulations.
